The Hales Honda Team headed by Tony & Suzi enjoyed the 2009 Manx Junior Classic win with their rider Chris McGahan completing an illusive hat trick. Sean Leonard the second Hales Honda rider took a career best finishing in eighth position winning a replica. After the bad practice weather race day arrived and Chris made his normal steady start. Last years Hales Honda rider Alan Ovasby was on the immaculate 350 MVand howeled through Union Mills with the war cry only an MV can give, Chris was loosing ground as his Honda's ignition was losing top end power and second place looked likely as the gap increased into the second lap. Lap three and Alan Oversby was black flagged at Sulby and retired with the MV loosing a footpeg. Chris raced on to the chequered flag to take an emotional win and the celebrations started straight away with the now traditional pint of Guinness. Needless to say the prize giving at the Villa was as blurred as the Hales Honda flat out past the Sulby Glen. The spoils of victory showed no bounds as the Peel resident visited his old stomping ground in Kent a few weeks later.
